Design and Technology – Graphics Products (TD)

If you are, then you should be seriously considering choosing Design and Technology (graphic product)
Design and Technology (graphic products) is concerned with design and problem solving. The subject places a strong emphasis on graphic communication, drawing and presentation skills, computer graphics, and constructing models of architectural design solutions.


The content of Design and Technology develops skills in:

  • Designing: carrying out investigations, developing designs, evaluating, communicating, and modelling of design ideas.
  • Manufacturing: using knowledge of materials, displaying manufacturing capability, organising and planning activities.
  • Graphic Products: by modelling, by producing technical and pictorial drawing, using presentation techniques and incorporating stretching and computer aided drawing.


In the second half of Year 11 students will design and model a solution to an architectural problem. This is mostly done in class and accounts for 60% of the final mark. The complete folder of drawing and presentation work together with a model, is to be completed by May of Year 12.


Two written papers 40%

Paper 1 – 16%
Paper 2 – 24%

Architectural Based Project Folder and Model 60%
