The word money was cut out using a Hegner/fret saw. Each of the letters are joined together and cut out in one piece, by doing this it gives the material strength. This is a difficult piece of work and requires a lot of careful work to cut the letters out accurately. You need to put some thought into the design of your letter to allow them to be cut out and still look like the word.

The spaces in the middle of the letters were drilled and then an abra file was used to create the required space.

Once the letters or shapes are cut out they need to be glued onto the lid of the box with PVA Glue. This is a water based glue and any extra glue should be cleaned off as quickly as possible.
